All tree work undertaken by A & F Tree Services is carried out in accordance with BS 3998.

We always remove all arisings and leave work areas tidy (unless otherwise arranged). We have an 8"  Tracked Chipper and tipping truck.  

Tree Pruning - Our climbing arborists are skilled shapers of trees with an understanding of tree biology; this underpinning knowledge helps us prune trees correctly. We undertake various pruning operations, here are a few: Crown Reductions, Crown Narrowing, Crown Lifting, Crown Thinning, The Removal of Deadwood and Dangerous Branches.


Tree Removal - Our climbing arborists are skilled at dismantling trees in sections (sometimes referred to as section felling), both within confined spaces and with fragile objects beneath. We often use the latest rigging techniques to help us take trees down trees the safest way possible. We have plenty of experience using cranes for tree removal. This can create significant cost savings for the removal of larger trees.

Stump Removal - We use 2 methods for stump removal depending on which is most efficient for the job. Stump grinding, which grinds the stump into mulch where lies in the ground. We also use an  excavator with a mulcher attachment to grind out stumps in the ground or after being grubbed out.

Hedge Trimming - We tackle any hedge, large, small deciduous or evergreen. We leave them even and tidy and even.

Cable Bracing - If a tree has a week branch union or other defect which requires support we can Cable Brace between 2 or more points within the crown of the tree. We use an non-invasive brace called Cobra. This stretches with tree as it moves in the wind. This allows the tree to keep strengthening itself (unlike with a ridgid brace). If the Cobra stretches beyond a given point then it holds the the tree greatly alleviating the chance of failure.

Root Pruning and Root Barriers - We can provide Root Pruning services and can install root barriers to stop root systems from enchrouching where they're not wanted. 

Disease Treatment - We can diagnose most tree diseases. Although many diseases are not treatable, we will treat any disease that is.

Tree Planting - We provide a planting service from forest establishment to planting mature individual specimens. Also REPS Hedgrow Planting.
